2017 National Scout Jamboree
Every four years, the Boy Scouts of America welcomes youth and leaders from across the nation together to explore and experience all the Summit Bechtel Reserve high adventure camp has to offer. In 2017, more than 40,000 people were on the property over the course of the event.
My role in this monstrous undertaking was three-fold:
Capture video content for packages played during five ‘stadium shows’ put on for the entire camp,
Operate a broadcast/ENG camera during the stadium shows (including a concert from rock act X Ambassadors and an address to those gathered by President Trump),
Capture video and stills of West Virginia University’s presence at the event.

UFC 205 | FloCombat
On November 12th, 2016, modern fight icons took the floor at the world’s most famous arena — Madison Square Garden. I was hired by FloCombat to document what was described by UFC president Dana White as the "biggest fight card" in the company's history.
UFC 205 was the first MMA pay-per-view to take place in the state of New York after the New York State Athletic Commission’s ban on this popular combat sport was lifted in early 2016. As popular as the sport and the event was, media outlets from all over the country and the world sent correspondents to cover and report on the weekend’s events. I was there with online sports news publication FloCombat to create photo and video content as rapidly as possible, with the goal of creating as many articles that would generate traffic to their site.
Over the course of four days, I shot stills and produced nearly twenty videos of:
weigh-ins,
fight previews and recaps from our writers,
and reactions from the Irish contingent in the Big Apple after their golden boy, Conor McGregor became the first-ever multi-division champion in UFC history, adding the UFC lightweight title to his already-held (if rarely defended at that time) UFC featherweight title.

West Virginia Science Adventure School
The West Virginia Science Adventure School is a camp for sixth graders designed to excite them for the academic year ahead. Based at the Summit Bechtel Reserve, home of the Boy Scouts of America’s high adventure camp and site of the National Jamborees, the curriculum focuses on STEM and environmental education as a framing mechanism for exploration and personal growth. My role was to develop video campaigns for the program’s web presence, and write social media and web copy.
WVUGo Media Lab & WVU CPASS
The WVUGo Media Lab is an advertising and communications office comprised of undergraduate and graduate students tasked with the promotion of the Department of Campus Recreation and Office of Adventure WV - a collection of outdoor recreation programs. My role as a graduate assistant and content creator was to recruit and oversee the other content creators in the office and manage communication with professional staff and clients while developing campaigns and content for various programs and events.
MMA ROADTRIP | Bleacher Report & FIGHT! MAGAZINE
5 days, 7 interviews, 11 videos, 1 MAGAZINE PHOTO CREDIT: Central Pennsylvania, Northern New Jersey, Jersey Shore, Long Island
Bleacher Report’s “Fighting Life” MMA road trip series entered its third chapter in the fall of 2014, this time traveling throughout the northeast US to visit fighters, coaches, trainers, and journalists on their home turf. We stopped first to visit Tony Reid, host of “Rattling the Cage” — one of the only MMA-focused shows on traditional terrestrial radio at the time — to appear in studio and promote the series.
Then we stopped in Sparta, N.J. to spend a night (sans tent) in the woods with Jim (30-13) and Dan Miller (14-8), a fearsome pair of brothers who went from fighting each other to fighting in the UFC then starting their own gym.
Our next stop was the Tom’s River, N.J. home of former UFC lightweight champion, coach on the 2013 season of The Ultimate Fighter and UFC on FOX analyst, Frankie Edgar (23-6) for an extended interview in his living room.
From Tom’s River we drove to Long Island, NY, home to two of the biggest gyms in the east coast UFC training scene - LAW MMA and Serra BJJ. While at LAW, we spoke with legendary MMA coach and trainer Ray Longo and his protegés Al Iaquinta (14-5-1) and Aljamain Sterling (17-3).
The trip wrapped outside Long Island in Huntingdon, N.Y., the home of Serra BJJ and the gym’s namesake, UFC Hall of Famer, former competitor and coach on ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ seasons 4 and 6, and former UFC welterweight champion Matt Serra. Serra gave us a tour of his gym and office a la ‘MTV’s Cribs’ as well as an extended interview on his post-fighting career.
Tempus Vita Productions
Since 2011, I’ve been shooting and editing wedding videos solo or with partners. In 2016, two friends and I decided to pursue this as a side business — Tempus Vita Productions, serving West Virginia couples who want the start of their lives together captured in time.
Rising Sun Construction
Morgantown, W.Va.-based home design and construction company Rising Sun Construction needed a video piece to show off one of their most impressive projects and attract more clients. I directed a small crew and the owner while shooting some steadicam shots, served as voice-over talent and editor.
WVU College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences
The West Virginia University College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences reached out for assistance with a video component for their undergraduate recruitment efforts. Shot over the course of a few months - to allow for real CPASS students to be included - I served as director, camera operator, voice-over talent and editor.
